Changing the Oil
Regular oil changes are an important part of routine vehicle maintenance. Recommended intervals vary according to the vehicle, oil type, mileage, age, and driving conditions. The best course is to follow the maintenance schedule in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.
If the oil warning light comes on while driving, the engine may have low oil pressure or an insufficient oil level. Stop safely and consult the owner’s manual before continuing. If the warning remains illuminated after the oil level has been corrected, or returns soon afterward, the vehicle may have a leak or another mechanical problem and should be inspected by a qualified technician.
